A recovery pilot your grant office can say yes to.

Where it fits
Four kinds of project a pilot sits inside.
Title III and Title V
Strengthening Institutions and Hispanic-Serving Institutions grantees
Projects built around academic support, learning technology and retention, where an evaluated intervention is part of the plan.
State student-success funds
Colleges moving students from developmental into college-level math and English
A gateway-course cohort with a published pass-rate baseline gives the pilot a number to beat.
Workforce and short-cycle programs
Providers of accelerated healthcare and technical credentials, including Workforce Pell programs
Short programs leave little time to recover from a bad week. Workforce Pell pays students’ program costs, so the pilot is funded by the college, not the grant.
Research and faculty grants
NSF two-year-college programs, campus AI and innovation grants, evaluation centres
The college leads and owns the measurement; Zelvi is the instrument and the technology partner.
How it maps to your project
Your goals, what Zelvi does, what you report.
| Project goal | What Zelvi does | What you report |
|---|---|---|
| Academic support | Re-teaches the misconception from your material and has the student try again, at any hour, not only when the centre is open. | Recovery on the first retry and within the term. |
| Supplemental instruction and tutoring | Students still stuck reach your SI leaders, tutors or instructor with every attempt attached, so the session starts at the mistake. | Hand-offs to people, and what happened after them. |
| Learning technology | Launches from your LMS, signs in with your identity provider and imports rosters from your SIS. No new destination for students. | Active students by section, and who has gone quiet. |
| Course success and retention | Faculty see who is stuck and what to reteach while the term is still running, and can send a retry in one click. | Assessment scores and drop / fail / withdraw rate against your baseline. |
What we send your grant office
Five documents, before anyone signs.
Pilot scope
One course, one term, section size, dates and the named people on both sides.
Evaluation plan
The measures below, defined before the pilot starts, with data export for your evaluator.
Security overview
Sign-in, data isolation per institution, privacy controls and where data is stored.
Accessibility report
A criterion-by-criterion report against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, as an ACR / VPAT.
Continuation price
No cost during the design-partner period, and a written price for the term after, so it can go in next year’s budget.
The evaluation measures
- First-retry recovery
- Share of struggles resolved on the student’s next attempt.
- Eventual recovery
- Share resolved within the term, and how long it took.
- Repeat misconception
- Students who made the same mistake again after help.
- Hand-offs to people
- How many reached a tutor or instructor, and what happened next.
- Material gaps
- Questions your material could not answer, by topic.
- Course outcome
- Assessment scores and drop / fail / withdraw rate against your baseline.
